Programs Chair
Type: Part Time
Rate: $35/hour
Hours: 5-10/week hours per week
Location
This position offers the flexibility of being located anywhere in the United States, with primary work taking place virtually and occasional travel required as needed for events, donor engagement, and key organizational activities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all programming activities for Ayandeh, prioritizing community building and stakeholder engagement.
- Develop events tailored to the Iranian diaspora community, responsive to both general and specific needs.
- Manage the development of Camp Ayandeh and Camp Javan, including scheduling, curriculum, venue, and supplies.
- Oversee a team of up to ten staff and volunteers for program delivery and success evaluation.
- Coordinate with Ayandeh’s Operations, Developments, and Communications Working Groups.
- Develop and implement new programs, such as an adult retreat, to meet community interests.
Qualifications
Required
- Strong communication skills, with ability to participate in 2-4 weekly virtual meetings, use Slack asynchronously, and work within Google Workspace.
- Experience in project management: breaking down tasks, allocating resources, and tracking progress.
- Ability to lead and manage a team in program development.
- Skill in setting goals, measuring program success, and adapting to changes.
- Empathy and effective communication with people of diverse backgrounds and needs.
- Ability to foresee challenges, adapt to changes, and maintain flexibility.
- Consent to a background check.
- Experience working with youth.
